Train ticket prices slashed by 50% as rail sale begins in the East Midlands

A huge rail sale has is now live with hundreds of train journeys from the East Midlands to around the UK slashed in price by up to 50%.

There are more discounted tickets available than ever before so more of us can enjoy short jaunts to nearby cities like Sheffield or further-flung trips to places like Liverpool and London.

Our local rail operation East Midlands Railway (EMR) is encouraging customers to book early as possible to make sutre they can enjoy savings of up to 50% on selected Advance tickets.

There are more than 100,000 discounted tickets up for grabs across EMR’s Intercity and Connect services, as well as routes including Liverpool to Norwich, Nottingham to Skegness, Nottingham to Lincoln, and Derby to Crewe.

With a limited number of tickets available, customers are being advised to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Tickets can be booked between Tuesday, January 6 and Monday, January 12 with discounted travel available between Tuesday, January 13 and Wednesday, March 25 2026.

Promotional tickets are subject to availability and may not be offered on selected routes, fare flows, or travel dates.

Simon Pready, commercial director at East Midlands Railway, said: “With tickets limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, we’d encourage everyone to book early and take advantage of these popular fares before they’re gone.”
