Around 180 train services were cancelled at Leicester’s railway station over the past 12 weeks, new figures show.
The new figures have been released by the ‘On Time Trains’ website.
The site collects public data on delays and cancellations from the last 12 weeks and then ranks stations in England, Wales and Scotland from best to worst.
Statistics collated by the On Time Trains website showed Leicester was the 89th busiest station in the country, with an average of 14,501 passengers a day. But it was only the 2,151th best, out of 2,616 stations, based on service, punctuality and frequency of cancellations.
Figures revealed 1% of the 18,003 trains calling at Leicester were cancelled. Only 43% in total ran on time.
Nottingham was the only other East Midlands station to make the top 100 worst stations list, ranking at 30.
