Mowgli Street Food, founded by British restaurateur Nisha Katona, has 21 restaurants in the UK and now plans to open a site on High Street in Lincoln at the end of May or beginning of June.

Sharing the news on social media, Katona said she had been looking for “that perfect cute Diagon Alley kind of building in Lincoln”.

“Well Lincoln- lots of Chat Bomb love is heading your way!”

Born in Lancashire, the daughter of Indian immigrant founders, Nisha worked as a child protection barrister for 20 years but gave it up in 2014 to start Mowgli, that serves the kind of food Indians eat at home and on the streets.

The restaurant is best known for its yoghurt chat bombs which are described on the menu as “the heart of Mowgli: Crisp bread puffs filled with chickpeas, spiced yoghurt, tamarind and coriander.”
