If you’ve ever looked at Slick City and thought “I’d absolutely love a go on that, but I don’t fancy queueing behind 50 sugar-fuelled kids”, then you’re time is now.

Nottingham’s favourite action park is finally launching adults-only nights, giving over-18s exclusive access to its huge indoor slide complex once a month.

Located on Lenton Lane Industrial Estate, Slick City will open its doors to grown-ups on the first Friday of every month, with the first event taking place on Friday 7th August. From 8pm until 10pm, adults can channel their inner child and throw themselves down giant slides for £22.95 per person.

And before you ask, yes, all the best slides will be open.

Visitors will have access to all 16 dry slides, including the four-person Fast Lane, the stomach-dropping Royal Flush, the seriously steep Big Wave, and the park’s headline attraction, the Mega Launch.

Since opening back in March, Slick City has become one of Nottingham’s most talked-about attractions, attracting thousands of visitors and regularly filling sessions. But according to the team behind it, one request kept popping up: Can adults have the place to themselves?

Apparently the answer is now yes.

Phil James, Managing Director of Slick City UK, said the move comes as more people look for alternative nights out that don’t revolve around pubs and bars.

He explained: “Whether it’s a date night, celebrating a birthday, a kid-free catch-up with friends or simply trying something completely new, people are looking for experiences that are fun, memorable and a little out of the ordinary.”

He added that the company hopes the sessions will become a regular fixture of Nottingham nightlife, saying: “After all, you’re never too old to race down a giant slide.”

As if flying down giant slides wasn’t enough, the venue is also home to the world’s first UV Air Glider, an air-powered coaster that sends riders soaring through the air. If you’re feeling brave, you can add it to your session for £4 per ride.

The 50,000-square-foot venue also includes a spring-loaded sports air court for games of basketball and dodgeball, plus an on-site café for anyone needing a breather after launching themselves around the building for two hours straight.

With space for up to 350 people per session, these adults-only evenings could end up being one of the more chaotic Friday nights Nottingham has to offer.

And honestly? It sounds a lot more fun than standing in a packed bar queue.
