Birds Bakery has launched a search for a special someone to become its official product taste tester and will send the lucky applicant into their nearest store to try out new treats FOR FREE!

Calling all self-confessed savoury and cake connoisseurs, this one’s for you.

That’s right, Birds Bakery is ready to make a bakery lover’s dream come true, as the East Midlands brand has announced it’s is on the look-out for an official ‘Product Taste Tester’ to join the team.

The ideal candidate will be a true Birds Bakery fan and they don’t need to have any previous experience in the food industry but must be passionate about flavour, tradition, and discovering new tastes.

This is a voluntary position running until December 2026, perfectly suited for a bakery enthusiast eager to help shape Birds’ future flavours.

As the “customer voice of Birds’ flavour future”, the successful applicant will meet with the team in their local Birds store and sample a variety of items, from beloved classics like Birds’ iconic sausage rolls to brand-new product innovations. All that is required in return is to provide honest feedback that will be valuable to the team’s product development going forward.

Your application will include a brief 100-word cover letter highlighting why you’re a great fit for the role. The hiring team is also eager to learn about your love for Birds Bakery – whether it’s a ‘must-have’ product you can’t live without or a cherished childhood memory of sharing Birds’ treats with family.

Jamie Bird, managing director of Birds Bakery, said: “This is the ultimate opportunity for a Birds Bakery enthusiast.

“Customer feedback is extremely important to the business, but now we’re taking it a step further by bringing one lucky Birds customer into the heart of our product development.
