Butlin’s classic seaside resort in Skegness is turning 90 next month and a special weekend break has been planned dedicated to marking the huge milestone.

Kicking off on April 10, the Skegness resort will host three-nights of birthday celebrations with shows and activities exclusive to the special break.

On Saturday, April 11, to mark the day Billy Butlin officially opened the Skegness site 90 years ago, guests to the resort will be treated to a dazzling firework and laser display. As a nod to the year the Lincolnshire resort opened the fireworks party will start at 19:36, hosted by the iconic Redcoats alongside mascots Billy and Bonnie, before a nine-minute show lights up the skies celebrating every decade of Butlin’s.

New Birthday Party Bingo in Reds will include themed games, party dances and a special moment when the number 90 is called out. Plus, any guests also celebrating a birthday during the weekend will be treated to their own special moment in the spotlight. The Birthday Party Bingo will be added to the programme for guests to celebrate Butlins Skegness turning 90 on all breaks for the remainder of 2026.

Also, to celebrate entertaining the nation for nine decades, the resort has launched a search to find the ultimate Butlin’s family, with a special invitation to the 90th birthday break in Skegness up for grabs. To enter the competition, families will need to head to the Butlin’s social page and show why they should be crowned worthy winners.

The brand’s ultimate family will then be treated like royalty during the weekend. The incredible prize includes three nights in a Maple Walk Premium Lodge, the hugely popular All Inclusive drinks package, Premium Dining plan, plus Early Access VIP passes for the whole family.

The three-night birthday celebration breaks start from £214 and also includes Butlin’s star-studded Easter entertainment lineup, with headline acts The Masked Singer and Maximum Pro Wrestling. This is alongside free-flow access to the huge Splash Waterworld pools, unlimited fairground rides, and plenty of playgrounds and soft play centres included in the price.  This also includes the £2.5 million SKYPARK playgrounds

Mike Godolphin, Butlin’s Entertainment Director, said: “No one does it bigger and better than Butlin’s, and we’ve been proudly doing it for 90 years. A milestone this special deserves a Butlin’s style celebration to match. From the spectacular firework and laser display and incredible entertainment across the weekend, we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone across the three resorts.
