A new restaurant offering truly classic Goan Indian and Portuguese dishes has opened its doors in Leicester
Golden Sands has taken over the former Shimla Pinks unit on London Road and will now be tantalising the tastebuds of the city’s diners with their signature dishes that include their special Achari Chicken Tikka and curries including their Kid Goat Rogan Josh.
There are also some special fish and seafood choices, from Lobster Biryani to Cafreal Salmon Tikka and Salmon Wellington, to name a few.

On their website, the owner has shared a bit more about the background of the business.
It says: “The story began in 1968, in the village of Batim in Goa, where my grandmother opened a humble coffee bar to bring people together through food and culture. That same spirit lives on today at Golden Sands.
“As her grandson, I’m proud to introduce a new dining experience in Leicester – offering authentic Goan and Portuguese dishes, rooted in tradition and served with warmth. Welcome to Golden Sands, where every plate tells a story”
Golden Sands is open seven days a week and serves meals between 4-10pm and take bookings via the website or Instagram.
