Megadeth announce massive farewell tour with Black Label Society and Testament – and a Nottingham date is included

It's your last chance to catch the band before they step away from touring

Megadeth are heading back to Nottingham as part of their huge final world tour, bringing Black Label Society and Testament along for what could be one of metal’s biggest arena packages of 2027.

Fresh from a landmark year that saw the thrash metal legends score their first-ever UK chart-topping album, Dave Mustaine and co. have unveiled ‘Breakout: Hibernation Of The Nations’, a 24-date European arena trek forming the next chapter of their long-running farewell tour.

For Nottingham metal fans, the key date is March 2027, when the band roll into the city and play Motorpoint Arena as part of a run that kicks off in Belfast on March 9 and wraps up in Lisbon on April 13.

Joining them for the entire journey are fellow heavyweights Black Label Society and Testament, making for a bill stacked with decades of metal history and enough riffs to level an arena.

The tour arrives in support of Megadeth’s seventeenth and final studio album, which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, marking a career first for the band and further cementing their status as one of the most influential acts in heavy music.

Rather than being a one-off goodbye, Megadeth’s farewell has been designed as a multi-year global celebration, giving fans several chances to catch the band before they eventually step away from the road.

Speaking about the tour, frontman Dave Mustaine said: “This isn’t about saying goodbye. It’s about celebrating everything we’ve built together over the last four decades. Every city has its own story, every crowd has given us unforgettable memories, and we want to come back to celebrate that with the fans who made it all possible.”

He added: “When we started talking about this tour, we wanted it to be a true celebration of metal. Black Label Society and Testament are bands we have tremendous respect for, and having them join us makes these shows even more special. This lineup represents decades of heavy music, and it’s going to be an incredible night for the fans.”

Fans can expect a setlist spanning Megadeth’s entire career, from classic thrash staples through to tracks from their chart-topping final album, backed by a production designed to celebrate every era of the band’s four-decade legacy.
