Grand Central Railway’s (GCR) beloved Santa Express train rides are back for more festive fun this Christmas and tickets for the Loughborough attraction are on sale now.

The famous festive steam trains have become an essential part of Christmas for many families in the East Midlands and they are being invited once again to experience a magical Christmas adventure filled with storytelling, seasonal cheer, and festive fun.

You can book tickets now and the festive trains are running right up until Christmas Eve.

Children will get to meet Santa and his jolly helpers, receive a specially curated Christmas Activity Pack, and enjoy festive drinks and treats before Santa delivers a personal gift to each youngster. Meanwhile, grown-ups can get to enjoy a complimentary Irish Cream Liqueur and mince pie while soaking up the scenic Charnwood countryside.

The festive journey takes in beautifully decorated period stations and includes a pause on the breathtaking Swithland Viaduct. At Leicester North Station, families can snap a photo with Santa in front of the locomotive, meet the mischievous elves, and enjoy the tearoom.

This year’s Santa Express is ‘top and tailed’, with a steam engine heading north to the Leicester North Pole and a heritage diesel bringing the train back to Loughborough.

Great Central Railway is urging families to book now to avoid disappointment. The Santa Express promises unforgettable memories, festive cheer by the carriageful, and a seasonal day out that children – and grown-ups – will treasure.

Tickets for the Santa Express can be purchased via the Great Central Railway website: https://www.gcrailway.co.uk/
