Calm yourself, the rumours are true…

McDonalds has responded to calls to make a number of social media fan-made food menu hacks official with the launch of a new ‘secret menu’ at its East Midlands outlets.

So the days of having to place large random orders to make up hybrid burgers or merged McFlurries are now over – well, for a short time anyhow – with Maccies now turning some of the most viral customer concoctions into legit burgers, drinks and desserts.

For example, can’t choose between a fish fillet or beef burger? Have both! The new Surf N’ Turf burger has two beef patties with cheese, onions, pickles, mustard and ketchup, alongside a crispy white Alaskan pollock fish fillet

Those torn between chicken and beef can pick up the new Chicken Cheeseburger which combines a beef patty with a crispy chicken patty, cheese, onions, mustard and ketchup.

Other items on offer from the secret menu include a new Espresso Milkshake and the Apple Pie Mini McFlurry.

The new January line-up has also been boosted by the return of the Big Arch, Fajita Chicken One, Chilli Cheese Bites and Galaxy Smooth Caramel McFlurry.

McDonald’s UK & Ireland senior vice-president and chief marketing officer Ben Fox said: “Some of these mash-ups shouldn’t work, but they are weirdly good and need to be tried to be believed. Others are more natural combinations that are simply delicious.

“This limited-time lineup celebrates the creativity of our customers that we see every day on social media.”

“We’re really happy to now make The Secret Menu official in the UK&I, turning fan-favourite hacks into reality.
