Vinyl fans in the East Midlands will soon be able to get their hands on a number of mouth-watering collectible and limited-edition records from some of the biggest and most exciting names in music – plus expect many more surprises!

Hundreds of artists have again come together for Record Store Day (RSD) which celebrates the UK’s independent record shops and are at the heart of local communities nationwide.

The event, which this year takes place on Saturday, April 12, has now been held for 18 years and brings together artists, labels, and record stores across the country to celebrate the unique culture of independent shops and the enduring art of vinyl.

With special releases spanning rock, pop, soul, jazz, hip-hop, reggae, classical, and folk – plus three Harry Potter soundtracks – music fans of all tastes and genres will find something to enjoy at independent East Midlands independent record stores this April.

The Return of Oasis

This year’s Record Store Day list includes a special Oasis release with Time Flies… (1994-2009) being made available for the first time with remastered audio and completely new packaging. The box set is numbered and includes four coloured LPs.

Liam Gallagher also joins this year’s lineup with a special release – Acoustic Sessions – which includes eight acoustic tracks, pressed on vinyl for the very first time.

Taylor Swift

Swifties rejoice! Taylor Swift makes a return to Record Store Day with an exclusive 7″ white vinyl of “Fortnight” taken from Taylor Swift’s Grammy Nominated Album of the Year, The Tortured Poets Department. This is the first time “Fortnight [BLOND:ISH Remix]” will be available on vinyl.

Brit Nominees, Emerging Talent & Music for Everyone

Record Store Day 2025 features three releases from Brit nominee, Fred again.. For the first time ever, Fred will release his ‘Actual Life’ piano live sessions on vinyl.

RSD is thrilled to welcome other Brit nominees: Beabadoobee, Charli XCX, Rachel Chinouriri, Confidence Man, The Cure, English Teacher, Sam Fender, and Michael Kiwanuka. Accompanied by an impressive lineup of exciting talent including Lil Uzi Vert, Megan Thee Stallion, MJ Lenderman, and Post Malone.

Indie favourites The Jesus and Mary Chain are set to release a remastered 13-track collection of A-sides and non-album B-sides. Meanwhile, The Verve’s Voyager 1, a rare ‘pseudo-bootleg’ designed to look like an unofficial release, is also getting a reissue. Originally put out to introduce the band to U.S. audiences via Virgin’s indie label Vernon Yard Recordings

All items on this year’s release list will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at participating shops only.
