Expect sweat, smiles and a crowd that forgets what time it is meant to be.
Fac51 The Haçienda is set to take over Nottingham’s Wollaton Hall again this summer with Faithless announced as headliner and will be joined by some proper DJ royalty.
The open-air show will again celebrate the history of house and electronic music, which The Hacienda was an integral part of. Joining Faithless in celebrating the iconic venue will be Todd Terry, Roger Sanchez, Erol Alkan, DJ Paulette and more.
Originally conceived, founded and financed by Factory Records and New Order, The Haçienda was the brainchild of the band’s manager, Rob Gretton alongside Tony Wilson & Alan Erasmus. Taking cues from New York City’s sprawling club scene, it first opened its doors on May 21, 1982 sporting a Factory Records catalogue number of FAC51, and pioneering interior designed by architect Ben Kelly and graphics by Peter Saville.

The Haçienda didn’t just host parties, it rewired nightlife, setting templates that UK cities still borrow from.
This open-air tribute to the iconic Manc venue will take place on Saturday August 22 and tickets go on sale on Friday, February 27.
So, with the music blaring amongst such a beautiful backdrop, we can’t think of many better ways to spend a summer night and tip your hat to those responsible for shaping the face of UK club culture.
How about this…
Despite being open sometimes six nights a week, The Haçienda wasn’t without its money troubles.
On the March 7, 1983, New Order released Blue Monday for the first time.
The record would go on to be one of the biggest selling 12″ of the era. It spent 34 weeks in the charts, but despite its commercial success, the band were persuaded to part with their profits to help alleviate the Haciendas financial losses.
