Nothing But Thieves have announced a huge Nottingham arena date as part of their biggest tour yet, alongside news of their new fifth album ‘Stray Dogs’.
Fresh from celebrating a decade as one of the UK’s most influential alt-rock exports, the Southend five-piece returned last week with the euphoric ‘Evolution’, setting the tone for what looks set to be their most ambitious chapter to date.
Marking a decade as one of Britain’s most vital alt-rock exports, the Southend five-piece return with ‘Evolution’ – a euphoric, surging comeback single that signals the start of their next chapter. Alongside it comes the announcement of their fifth album, ‘Stray Dogs’, due September 25 via RCA/Sony, and a colossal 2027 world tour that cements their status as arena mainstays.
But for us fans in the East Midlands, one date jumps off the page: February 4, 2027 – Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena.
Positioned right in the heart of their UK run – between Dublin and a huge night at London’s O2 – the Nottingham show will see the five-piece bring their new era to the region’s biggest stage.
After a decade defined by four albums, billions of streams and relentless global touring, Nothing But Thieves have returned to where it all began. ‘Stray Dogs’ was recorded at Angelic Studios – the same space that birthed their debut – as the band reconnected with their DIY roots and stripped things back to something more instinctive and unified.
Written together over an intense five-month period, the record is said to be their most cohesive yet, exploring themes of belonging, outsider identity and shared experience – a natural evolution of the connection they’ve built with fans worldwide.
That connection has been front and centre in recent weeks. From guerilla poster campaigns to a cryptic YouTube rollout capped by a global livestream and intimate Newcastle gig, the band have been pulling fans directly into their world ahead of the new album.
Lead single ‘Evolution’ encapsulates that ethos perfectly – a soaring alt-pop anthem packed with urgent guitars and communal energy, premiered to a small in-person crowd and millions watching online. Speaking about the track, the band described it as “a love letter to the people in our world”, rooted in authenticity, imperfection and the real human moments that define their shows.
It follows the huge success of 2023’s ‘Dead Club City’, which gave Nothing But Thieves their first UK Number One album and capped a run of four consecutive Top 10 records. That era saw them sell out arenas across the globe, including two nights at Wembley, while racking up over two billion streams and 1.2 million album sales.
Now, they’re going even bigger.
Nothing But Thieves play Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on February 4, 2027. Tickets go on sale June 5 at 10am, with pre-sale from June 2.
