Annie’s Burger Shack in Nottingham abruptly closes for good ten years after first opening

Annie’s Burger Shack in Nottingham city centre has closed with immediate effect with the loss of around 20 jobs.

Worcestererabs Ltd, who own the restaurant, announced the news in a letter to Companies House.

The letter said: “I regret to advise you that the Board of Directors has concluded that the Company is not in a position to continue trading and steps are being taken to place the Company into liquidation on November 1, 2024.

“In the meantime, it is necessary to bring the trading activities of the Company to an immediate close.

The premises in Broadway that once housed the Shack are now up for commercial rent for £65,000 per annum.

The restaurant has been based in Nottingham’s Broadway since 2014.

Founder Anmarie Spaziano, originally started out flipping Rhode Island style burgers at the Old Angel and Navigation pubs in 2009 before making the move to her own restaurant.

A summary of recent reviews on Tripadvisor states: “Visitors have called out frustratingly long wait times for seating and service, which, coupled with a perceived drop in value due to smaller, underwhelming burgers, has left many questioning the overall worth of their visit.”
