Eerie videos showing what East Midlands towns and cities would look like if left abandoned in the wake of a huge catastrophe have been attracting thousands of views on TikTok.

The spooky shorts on the ‘Our Town’ account have been created using computer wizardry and feature a number of towns and cities in the UK and many of them are in the East Midlands

19 towns have been covered so far in Leicestershire, including Melton Mowbray, Wigston, Loughborough and the city itself.

Matlock, Ilkeston, Belper and Derby are included amongst the eight videos featuring abandoned locations across Derbyshire.

Three towns and the city of Nottingham have been immortalised by the account in Notts and these include Newark, Beeston and Mansfield.

In fact, four of the ten most viewed vids feature East Midlands town and cities, with Nottingham plced second overall after attracting more than 114 thousand views.
