Loughborough’s Queen’s Park to be transformed into a ‘glowing wonderland’ for the town’s new light night event next month

The free event takes place over three days

Loughborough’s Queen’s Park will transform into a luminous gallery for three nights only in February thanks to the first ever Loughborough Light Nights event.

The free event takes place over three days from Friday 6 to Sunday, February 8 2026 from 5pm until 10pm each day and promises an unforgettable experience of illuminated art, live performances, and family-friendly fun.

Sections of Queen’s Park will be transformed into glowing stages for illuminated art installations, vibrant projections, live performances and entertainment, and interactive activities and workshops.

Organisers Charnwood Borough Council say they expect Loughborough Light Nights to be a ‘spectacular highlight of the season’.

Cllr Jennifer Tillotson, the Council’s lead member for economic development, regeneration and town centres, said: “This exciting new event will not only brighten up the winter evenings but also showcase our commitment to supporting local businesses and creating a vibrant town centre.

“Thanks to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, this event will be free to attend, and it’s a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors to come together and enjoy something truly special.”

Full details about Lights Nights will be revealed over the coming weeks on the Discover Charnwood website: www.discovercharnwood.co.uk/lights.
