If your soundtrack to 90s involved High, Lifted or Ocean Drive drifting from the car radio, then this might be the comeback gig for you.
Beloved British duo Lighthouse Family have announced a major UK and Ireland tour for 2027, celebrating their landmark debut album Ocean Drive alongside a setlist packed with the biggest hits from their three-decade career. And yes, Nottingham is getting a date.
The pair will bring the tour to Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on Monday, March 22, 2027, as part of a run that also takes in London’s Palladium, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and venues across Ireland, Scotland and England.
Formed in Newcastle in the early 1990s, vocalist Tunde Baiyewu and songwriter-producer Paul Tucker became one of the UK’s most successful pop-soul acts, selling more than 15 million albums worldwide. Their warm blend of soulful vocals, feel-good melodies and uplifting lyrics made them a fixture of the British charts throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.
For many fans, though, it all comes back to Ocean Drive. Released in 1995, the album spawned classics including Lifted, Ocean Drive and Goodbye Heartbreak, going on to achieve six-times platinum status in the UK. Follow-up album Postcards from Heaven delivered more enduring favourites, including High, Raincloud and Lost in Space.
Now, more than 30 years after their breakthrough, the duo are heading back on the road to celebrate the songs that made them household names.
For Nottingham audiences, it’s a chance to hear some of the most recognisable British pop-soul tracks of the past three decades performed live in one of the city’s most iconic venues.
