The owners of Revolution bars have shut their East Midlands sites ‘with immediate effect’ after entering administration

Nearly 600 jobs have been lost after owner The Revel Collective formally appointed FTI Consulting as administrators.

Venues closing include 14 Revolution bars, six Revolucion de Cuba bars and one Peach Pub – with the loss of 591 jobs.

But FTI confirmed deals have been made to secure the future of 41 sites and 1,582 jobs.

East Midlands Revolution sites in Leicester and Nottingham featured on a lsit of bars that will now close.

The Revolucion de Cuba site in Derby will also be shut down.

Revel undertook a major restructuring in 2024, shutting 15 unprofitable bars in a bid to turn around its performance.

It continued to battle rising costs, with new minimum pay levels and heightened national insurance contributions adding to the burden last spring.

A revamp also fell flat and a strategic review resulted in the group being placed up for sale.

Revel partly blamed weak trading, with younger customers having little disposable income. Higher costs also weighed on its bottom line and growing debt pile.
