Orbital announce new album ‘Other’ and Nottingham Rock City show for huge 2027 tour

Electronic music icons Orbital have announced a new album, Other, and a major UK and European tour for 2027, with the Hartnoll brothers set to play Nottingham’s Rock City as part of the run.

The pioneering duo will release their 11th studio album on March 19, 2027 via London Records before hitting the road for The Other Tour, which kicks off in Dublin on April 8.

The Nottingham show will see Orbital perform songs from Other alongside classics spanning more than three decades of genre-defying music.

The announcement arrives alongside the release of new single ‘Mother, Maiden & Crone’, a darkly atmospheric track drawing on themes of folklore and witchcraft. Featuring haunting spoken-word vocals from acclaimed actor Maxine Peake, the song marks Orbital’s first new material since 2023’s Optical Delusion.

The forthcoming album explores ideas of identity, neurodiversity and life on the fringes of society, while musically venturing through gothic folk, drum & bass, punk and ambient sounds. It’s an ambitious statement from a band who have spent 35 years refusing to stay within the boundaries of traditional dance music.

Few acts can claim to have done more to drag electronic music from the underground into the mainstream. From rave fields and warehouse parties to Glastonbury headline slots and chart success, Orbital remain one of the most influential names in British electronic music history.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on October 23, with a pre-sale beginning on October 21.
