Former Nottingham Forest owner and millionaire businessman Fawaz Al-Hawasi has been pictured covered in bandages after being knifed by masked raiders who burst into his Mayfair home.

The Kuwaiti, 57, was reportedly in bed when burglars forced entry into his mansion in an attempt to rob him.

Al-Hawasi tried to defend himself when the gang broke into his bedroom. He says he was knifed in the hand and suffered a neck injury during the altercation.

It is unclear whether burglars escaped with any items from the property.
