Okay Nottingham, listen up — Nottingham Express Transit (NET) is handing YOU the power to decide who gets their name slapped on a whole entire tram next year. Yes, an actual tram, the city’s biggest, boldest moving shout‑out. And they’re not looking for celebs… they want the unsung heroes, the low‑key legends, the people absolutely carrying Nottingham on their backs.
Last year NET rebooted the Community Hero tram and the city went feral (in a wholesome way). The 2025 honour went to Dr Marcellus Baz BEM and the powerhouse organisation Pulp Friction, meaning tram 204 spent the year repping pure community excellence.
Now it’s your turn to nominate.

NET wants their name — and they want videos, photos, the whole “my friend is iconic” pitch -0 anything that will support your nomination.
Your chosen hero could be rolling alongside Nottingham royalty like Torvill & Dean, Mary Earps, Vicki McClure and Sir Paul Smith. Not a bad squad to join, tbh.
NET’s head of marketing, Alison Sweeney, put it best: “Loads of our trams are named after icons — but what about the legends who keep the city going every day? THAT’S who we want to celebrate.”
After nominations close, NET will sift through the chaos, create a shortlist, and hand it over to a judging panel who’ll crown the 2026 hero. The winner then gets the ultimate flex:
- their name on a tram for a whole year
- an unveiling ceremony
- first-look bragging rights
