Fore! Nottingham could be getting a huge new indoor golf venue

Nottingham could soon be teeing up for a brand-new indoor golf destination, as London-based simulator company TeeGo sets its sights on a major expansion across the UK.

The indoor golf brand is planning to grow from just six venues to 20 across the country over the next two years, following a fresh seven-figure investment.

According to The Sunday Times, Nottingham is on the shortlist for a new site, alongside major cities including Manchester and Birmingham.

If the plans go ahead, TeeGo would become the UK’s largest network of indoor golf venues. The expansion is being backed by Middleton Enterprises, the investment firm behind hospitality favourites including SushiDog and Fatto a Mano.

Unlike traditional driving ranges, TeeGo’s venues use high-tech golf simulators that let players take on some of the world’s most famous courses without having to brave the British weather. The concept is aimed at everyone from seasoned golfers looking to sharpen their game to complete beginners keen to give the sport a go.

“Outdoor golf is great six or seven months a year, but the cost and time involved is prohibitive to many,” said TeeGo co-founder and chief executive Jay Patel.

“We see indoor golf as one of the best ways to support outdoor golf by making the game easier to access and easier to learn.”

With year-round play, no dress codes and no need for a four-hour round, indoor golf is becoming one of the fastest-growing leisure trends in the UK — and Nottingham could soon be next in line for a slice of the action.
