Newark is preparing for a full-scale Doctor Who invasion as the Festival of the Time Lords lands at Newark Showground on May 30.
The one‑day convention has just added a major name to its line‑up: Paul McGann, the Eighth Doctor, star of the 1996 TV Movie and a cornerstone of Big Finish’s audio universe. McGann most recently returned to screens in 2022’s The Power of the Doctor.
He’s joined by Sarah Sutton, who played Nyssa of Traken across the show’s iconic 1980s era, travelling with both the Fourth and Fifth Doctors.
Already confirmed are her co‑stars Peter Davison (the Fifth Doctor) and Janet Fielding (Tegan Jovanka), who recently reunited on screen in the minisode Destination: Daleks for a Fifth Doctor Blu-Ray boxset.

No Doctor Who gathering is complete without a legendary villain — and this one has a big one. Terry Molloy, the definitive Davros, will also be appearing, having portrayed the Doctor’s deadliest enemy in Resurrection, Revelation, and Remembrance of the Daleks.
And there’s still one guest yet to be announced, with organisers teasing more surprises to come.
Beyond the guest line‑up, the festival promises a packed trade hall filled with merchandise and art, with stall spaces currently available.
The team behind the event say fans can expect “an unforgettable, immersive experience” celebrating the Doctor Who universe while bringing together collectors, cosplayers, and fans of all ages.
The Festival of the Time Lords runs from 10am to 5pm, with tickets priced at £25.
