Cluck yeah! Chick-fil-A is reportedly eyeing a Nottingham opening

Plans are understood to involve the former Footasylum unit on Clumber Street

Nottingham’s fast-food scene could be about to get a big new addition.

Chick-fil-A, one of the most recognisable restaurant brands in the US, is reportedly planning a city-centre opening as it ramps up its UK expansion drive.

TheBusinessDesk is reporting that US fast-food giant has with plans for the former Footasylum unit on Clumber Street.

If the deal goes ahead, Nottingham would become the latest stop on the chain’s steadily growing UK rollout. Chick-fil-A returned to the English market last year with a restaurant in Leeds and has since added locations in London, while scouting further sites across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

So far, Chick-fil-A has opened four UK restaurants as part of a plan to establish five sites within two years. The company has also pledged to invest $100 million in the UK over the next decade as it looks to build a much bigger presence.

For Nottingham, a Chick-fil-A arrival would add another major international food name to the city centre and bring its famous chicken sandwiches to one of the East Midlands’ busiest shopping streets. For now, hungry locals will have to wait and see whether Clumber Street becomes the chain’s next UK outpost.
