Nottingham definitely isn’t short of fried chicken outlets, we know, but when a really good one comes along, we feel we need to shout about it.

Enter Chicking, the latest arrival in the city centre with a new menu boasting wraps, buckets, burgers and a range of spice levels to suit all palates.

The Nottingham restaurant opened its doors last week on Wheeler Gate.

The brand said the new Nottingham restaurant will serve its core menu, including grilled and fried chicken and hopes to target families and city-centre diners.

The fried chicken specialist was founded in 2000 by AK Mansoor.

It was one of the first fully Halal fast food chains in the world, and has since opened diners all over the world, with more than 230 outlets in 30 countries.

ChicKing confirmed the opening on social media, with a video showing the Nottingham site being officially inaugurated by its founder and director.

While cutting the ribbon, Mr Mansoor described the opening as ‘an incredible moment’.

“It was incredible to inaugurate this store and bring the globally loved Chicking experience to the heart of Nottingham,” he said.

“From our signature grilled chicken to the crispy fried classics, we’re ready to serve our community and create memorable moments for families, friends, and food lovers alike.

“This milestone reflects not just the growth of our brand, but the hard work, passion, and dedication of everyone behind ChicKing.”
