If you’re already wondering how to survive six weeks of summer holidays without hearing “I’m bored” every five minutes, Twycross Zoo may have just come up with the answer.
The Leicestershire attraction has announced Zoolapalooza, a brand-new summer festival packed with animal encounters, live entertainment, family challenges and daily prize giveaways – all running from July 11 to September 6.
And there’s a bonus for parents too: book online this summer and you’ll get 15 percent off admission, while still benefiting from the zoo’s popular ‘Pay for a day, visit free for 12 months’ ticket offer.
Not bad for a day out that could last all year.
At the heart of Zoolapalooza is a rolling programme of animal-themed celebrations, with a different star species taking centre stage every fortnight. Expect plenty of opportunities to get closer to some of the zoo’s most popular residents, including giraffes, tigers, gorillas and ring-tailed lemurs, while learning about the conservation work helping to protect them in the wild.

For younger visitors, there’s a brand-new Sticker Chart Challenge, where children can collect rewards by completing zoo activities and conservation-inspired tasks at home throughout the summer. Complete the chart before the end of the holidays and they’ll be entered into a special prize draw.
There’s also a new set of Zoo Crew challenges, designed to turn little explorers into wildlife experts as they make their way around the zoo.
Alongside the animal action, visitors can expect:

The zoo’s new Zoolapalooza Main Stage will host a packed programme including zookeeper Q&As, live shows and prize draws.
