Derby’s Quad is to screen the original Final Destination film before the horror film franchise is rebooted later this year.

The classic teen horror starring Devon Sawa and Tony Todd celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

After a teenager has a terrifying vision of him and his friends dying in a plane crash, he prevents the accident only to have Death hunt them down, one by one.

The film premiered back on March 17, 2000, earning $10,015,822 on its opening weekend.

The screening is the latest Fright Club event hosted by the QUAD, which is based in the city’s Cathedral Quarter.

Each month Fright Club programmer Adam Crowther and cult film historian Darrell Buxton introduce a mix of brand new terrors from home and abroad and the pick of the archives, with the aim of dragging you kicking and screaming towards the midnight hour.

Final Destination will be introduced by Darrell Buxton.

The screening takes place on March 1 at 20.30pm
