If your bank account is crying, your overdraft is almost at breaking point and you’ve already eaten pasta three nights in a row, Wendy’s might just have the answer.
To celebrate National Burger Day on 27th August, Wendy’s is handing out free burgers across the East Midlands, and yes, there is actually a way for everyone to get involved.
The first 50 people get a free Wendy’s Single
For one day only, the first 50 customers through the door at any Wendy’s restaurant will get a completely free Wendy’s Single burger.
And this isn’t some tiny burger either. The Wendy’s Single comes loaded with a quarter-pound fresh beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, ketchup and mayo inside a toasted bun.
So if you’re prepared to set an alarm and get there early, breakfast might not be your first meal of the day after all.
Miss out? There’s still a way to claim a free burger
If the thought of racing strangers to a burger queue isn’t your thing, don’t panic.
Anyone who signs up to receive Wendy’s app offers, newsletters and promotions by 26th August will be sent a voucher for a free burger to redeem at their local Wendy’s.
Basically, everyone gets a second chance.
There’s a new meal deal and it’s genuinely stacked
Wendy’s has also dropped a new Summer Biggie Bag, and for £9.99 you get five items:
- A Wendy’s Single burger, Classic Chicken Sandwich or Spicy Chicken Sandwich
- Large fries
- Four-piece Boneless Bites
- A large drink
- A regular Strawberries & Cream Frosty
The Frosty might actually be the star of the show here. The new Strawberries & Cream version comes with strawberry sauce and white chocolate chips on top of Wendy’s iconic frozen dessert.
And yes, chips dipped in a Frosty are apparently still a thing.
Students who love discounts are in luck
From 12th to 25th August, Wendy’s is also running three separate app-exclusive offers:
- £2 off a Wendy’s Triple burger
- £2 off Chicken Tenders
- £2 off any Kids’ Meal when spending £10
The offers are available through the Wendy’s app when ordering in store for dine-in or takeaway.
And there’s free dessert for kids too
As if that wasn’t enough, Wendy’s is also giving away a free regular Frosty with every Kids’ Meal purchased until 1st September 2026.
The offer is available for both dine-in and delivery orders, meaning every Kids’ Meal comes with an extra frozen treat thrown in.
Honestly, between the free burgers, discounted meals and bonus Frostys, Wendy’s has decided that August is apparently the month of giving away food. We’re not complaining.
