Tabletop fans, get ready for a big board game bonanza at Leicester’s National Space Centre later this month

Gamers are being invited to grab a dice, gather a crew, and escape the winter chill with a weekend of play, creativity, and discovery among the stars at Leicester’s National Space Centre.

The venue is getting ready to ‘power up’ into a haven for tabletop gamers, families, and curious minds with To Boldly Game — a weekend-long celebration of board games, roleplaying games, creativity, and science-inspired play that takes place later this month.

Set among iconic rockets and immersive galleries, visitors will discover the latest space and STEM-themed board games, take part in epic RPG sessions, miniature painting workshops, championships, and friendly challenges at the vent which runs from the January 31 – February 1, 2026.

Live demonstrations, open play areas, and creative hobby zones will inspire curiosity and learning whilst ensuring the Centre is buzzing with activity all weekend. And if that’s not enough, visitors will get the chance to meet the names behind the games with a diverse range of independent and established game publishers, designers, and creators attending including Hachette Boardgames UK, Absolute Ascendancy, Atikin Games, Geeky Meeples, Split Stone Games, and many more.

What’s more, Annual Pass holders can attend for free. New bookers don’t just get access to the event — they’ll also enjoy entry to the National Space Centre’s award-winning galleries, exhibitions, and attractions, plus a FREE upgrade to an Annual Pass, unlocking a whole year of return visits. How’s that for a side quest?
