Razorlight announce 20th anniversary UK tour – including Nottingham Rock City date

They'll be heading to the East Midlands in December

Razorlight are heading back out on the road to celebrate 20 years of their era-defining second album – and Nottingham is firmly on the map.

The British indie heavyweights have announced a UK and Ireland tour for November and December, marking two decades since their self-titled 2006 breakthrough Razorlight – the record that launched them into the mainstream with a string of hits and a five-times platinum certification.

After kicking off with a European run from October 22, Johnny Borrell and co. will hit the UK from November 26, with stops including Leeds, Manchester and London – plus a Nottingham date at Rock City on Tuesday, December 1, set to be one of the run’s standout nights.

Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday, June 19, following a pre-sale on Wednesday, June 17 – more info via the band’s official site.

The tour will see the classic four-piece lineup performing Razorlight in full, revisiting defining tracks like ‘In The Morning’, ‘Before I Fall To Pieces’ and ‘I Can’t Stop This Feeling I’ve Got’, alongside deeper cuts that helped cement the record’s cult status.

Reflecting on the album, Borrell said: “The album itself started to sound like a greatest hits. That’s when you know you’re alright.” He added of his writing partnership with drummer Andy Burrows: “It was like falling in love – we just couldn’t stop writing.”

Support on the tour comes from rising London punk-inflected duo The Molotovs, with The K’s joining for a heavyweight three-band bill at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on December 4.

The gigs announcement follows the band’s recent reunion run in support of their Razorwhat? best-of compilation, which saw the classic lineup reconnect onstage and reignite their creative spark.
