Dynamo is officially back – and this time, he’s ditching the huge arena spectacle in favour of something much closer, much more personal.

After sold-out runs in London, the UK’s most famous magician is hitting the road for the first time in a decade with Up Close and Magical – and Leicester is one of the key dates to book.

Running February 25-28 2027 at Leicester’s Y Theatre, this is your chance to see Dynamo in a setting that feels a world away from his headline-grabbing TV stunts. Think intimate theatre, sleight of hand you’ll swear happens right in front of you, and the kind of “how did he just do that?” moments that made him a household name.

The show itself pulls together highlights from across his career – from early street magic to the mind-bending illusions that earned him BAFTA nods and a global following. It’s already picked up four-star reviews from The Guardian and The Times, and promises a mix of nostalgia and genuinely baffling new tricks.

Crucially, it’s designed for everyone – whether you grew up watching Dynamo: Magician Impossible or you just fancy a night out that’s a bit different from the usual theatre lineup.

Dynamo (aka Steven Frayne) has said the tour marks a return to what he loves most: those shared moments of pure disbelief between performer and audience. And that’s exactly what this show leans into – less spectacle, more connection, all still completely mind-blowing.

The Leicester run sits right in the middle of the tour, making it one of the best chances to catch the show before word-of-mouth sends tickets soaring.
