If your idea of a good meal is loaded fries, grilled chicken and a shake on the side, this one’s for you.

Independent chicken restaurant Cluck’d is set to open a brand new site in Leicester this August, marking the chain’s third location after launches in Milton Keynes and Norwich. The new restaurant is expected to create more than 20 jobs.

Founded by Ricky Sahota, Cluck’d has built its menu around flame-grilled chicken served with a range of sauces, as well as burgers, wraps, rice boxes, loaded fries and handcrafted shakes.

Speaking about the decision to open in Leicester, Ricky said the city stood out because of its food scene and diverse community.

He said: “Leicester was a city we kept coming back to. It’s a place with a brilliant food culture, a diverse community and people who genuinely appreciate quality food.”

Ricky added that the team hopes to become a regular fixture in the city, creating somewhere locals return to for both the food and the overall experience.

And there’s more on the way than just chicken.

Cluck’d is also launching a new Pitta Club range this summer, adding a selection of pitta-based meals to its menu. So if loaded fries aren’t enough to tempt you, there’ll soon be even more options to choose from when the restaurant opens its doors.

Whether it can rival Leicester’s existing fast-food favourites is another question, but chicken fans will no doubt be keen to give it a try.

The new restaurant is opening on Humberstone Gate on Wednesday, August 19.
