Belle and Sebastian are rolling back the years in style.

The Glasgow indie-pop institution are marking three decades of their cult classic If You’re Feeling Sinister by taking the album out on the road for a run of special UK shows — played front‑to‑back in some of the country’s most beloved venues.

The band hit Nottingham’s legendary Rock City on Friday December 11, where they’ll run through Sinister in full before launching into a second set stacked with fan favourites, deep cuts and all the wistful, bookish brilliance that’s kept them essential for nearly three decades.

If You’re Feeling Sinister has long been canonised as one of indie’s greats — a mixtape mainstay whose songs have quietly shaped generations of bedroom dreamers. Pitchfork once dubbed Tigermilk “immaculate”, while The Guardian hailed Sinister as “subtly poetic, wickedly funny, and gorgeously melodic.” No arguments here.

Each night of the tour spotlights the album, followed by a victory‑lap set of classics. It’s a chance to hear the band’s mythology in real time — from the gentle melancholy to the sly humour that’s defined them since day one.

Named after Cécile Aubry’s French tale Belle et Sébastien — about a boy and his loyal mountain dog — the band have always worn their literary roots proudly. Their world expanded again in 2014 when they reissued their entire catalogue under the banner It Could Have Been a Brilliant Career, a nod to the standout track from The Boy With the Arab Strap.

Fan pre‑sale kicks off Wednesday June 17 at 9am, with general sale following on Friday June 19 at 9am. Details HERE.
