Now might just be the time to reassess your festive snack plans as news has just reached us that Asda has rolled out a foot long sausage roll that is now hitting the shelves in their East Midlands stores – it’s all our pastry dreams come true.

The retailer has launched the extra-large pastry, which can be served hot or cold, to add as part of a sharing Christmas party centrepiece.

The 400g sausage roll can serve up to eight people and was developed after the supermarket giant sold over 2m sausage rolls in December last year.

The huge sausage roll, which is described as “tender seasoned sausage meat wrapped in puff pastry and topped with a parsley sprinkle,” will set you back £3.98 for a 400g log.

The large sausage roll has gained online traction following its release, with posts by popular food bloggers, including Snack Reviews and Newfoodsuk, generating positive comments around the product.

Asda has recently been releasing limited edition foods for the festive season, offering innovative options for consumer favourites.

Last month the retailer launched giant Yorkshire-shaped puddings following the success of the product during last year’s festive season.

Additionally, Asda launched limited edition festive flavoured cheese truckles, including Pigs In Blankets and Gingerbread flavoured cheese.
