Leicester’s latest chicken spot is opening with free food, a DJ and 50% off

Leicester foodies can get their hands on free chicken and rice bowls this week as fast-growing grilled chicken brand Cluck’d opens its newest restaurant in the city.

The independent chain is launching its third UK site on Wednesday, August 19, and it’s marking the occasion by giving away free chicken and rice bowls between 12pm and 2pm.

As if free food wasn’t enough, diners can also expect a live magician throughout the day as part of the opening celebrations.

Cluck’d already has restaurants in Milton Keynes and Norwich, and recently picked up national recognition after being named among the UK’s best takeaways at The Nation’s Takeaway Awards 2026.

The celebrations don’t stop there.

On Saturday, August 22, the restaurant will host a special launch party from 1pm until 5pm, featuring well-known DJ DJ Simz and a huge 50% discount across the entire menu.

That means customers can grab everything from flame-grilled chicken and loaded fries to wraps, rice boxes, handcrafted shakes and the brand’s new Pitta Club range for half price.

Visitors will also be able to collect a Cluck’d loyalty card and take advantage of exclusive in-store offers.

And for anyone already planning a return visit, the chain’s popular Wing Wednesday deal lands in Leicester from August 26, offering buy-one-get-one-free wings every Wednesday.
