Police have found a body during extemnsive searches for a missing university student who vanished from campus in Lincoln on Sunday.

Police said 20-year-old Connor James Calleja, from Market Harborough in Leicestershire, was last seen on Sunday near Court 1 on the University of Lincoln campus before he disappeared.

Lincolnshire Police issued a statement on Tuesday (13).

It said: “A said a body had been discovered during a search of the Foss Bank – a body of water close to the Brayford Pool.

“Although formal identification had yet to take place, the body is believed to be Connor.”

Police said Connor’s family had been made aware and were being supported by specially trained officers.

There were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances, police added.
