If you’ve ever screamed the words “I Predict A Riot” at the top of your lungs in a muddy field, then clear your diary: Kaiser Chiefs are returning to Lincoln Castle for a huge headline show next summer.
The Leeds indie legends will take over the historic venue on Saturday June 12, bringing their catalogue of singalong anthems to one of the UK’s most stunning outdoor concert settings. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday via Ticketmaster and Lincoln Castle.
It’s a welcome return for the band, who last played Lincoln Castle in 2024 and left a lasting impression on fans. Now they’re back, armed with the kind of setlist that can turn an entire crowd into a mass karaoke session.
Few British bands have soundtracked the noughties quite like Kaiser Chiefs. Since forming in 2000, Ricky Wilson and co have delivered a relentless stream of indie classics, including Oh My God, Ruby, Everyday I Love You Less and Less, Never Miss a Beat and, of course, I Predict A Riot.
Their achievements speak for themselves: eight studio albums, more than eight million records sold worldwide, three BRIT Awards and an Ivor Novello. Their breakthrough debut Employment became one of the defining British albums of its era, while follow-up Yours Truly, Angry Mob cemented their status as indie royalty.
And let’s be honest, there aren’t many bands that can claim they’ve shared stages with U2, Foo Fighters and Green Day while still getting thousands of people shouting “Ruby, Ruby, Ruby” back at them two decades later.
The show is part of the latest Live at Lincoln Castle series, which continues to attract major artists to the city’s spectacular Norman fortress. Kaiser Chiefs join an already impressive 2027 programme featuring Alfie Boe, Ronan Keating, Jack Savoretti and James Morrison.
Mark Harrison, promoter at Cuffe and Taylor, said the band’s previous appearance at Lincoln Castle had been “fantastic” and predicted another unforgettable evening when they return next year.
